One of the new blogs I've been reading, Callapidder Days, is hosting Spring Reading Thing 2008
In January I made this these reading goals for the year. At the time, I thought it was a good idea to assign myself one or two books a month, but like many of my plans, it just did not work. I found that even if you know you want to read something, it is hard to know what you will be in the mood to read at any given time and unless you are in school and are given an assignment to complete, reading should be fun and not work. I go through phases with reading. I love to read but I tend to do it more in the summer months or when we are traveling. Lately I have been enjoying TV and movies with my husband at night so I have not been reading as much as I used to. But...in 2 weeks we will be moving and then we will be in travel.transition mode for the next 2 months which means there will be lots of time to read, so Spring Reading Thing 2008 has been a good excuse for me to look over my list I made for 2008 and revise it a little. A few books I took off because I already read them. A few I decided I am not going to read, at least not this year (all the Jane Austen books). I have also added a few books to my list. Most importantly, I took away the assigned months that I originally composed for myself.
I am currently reading and participating in Dawn's online book study of Mittenstrings for God and I will continue to read one little chapter a week. We are only 2 or 3 chapters into this and the chapters are very short (great reading material for the playground where there are lots of distractions and interuptions) so it is not too late to join us. There are cheap used copies on Amazon.
Listed below are the other books I plan to read.
